Issuance of General Business License Food Establishment Business License

Requirements for the Issuance of General Business License

Administration and Health Requirements

  • License must be displayed at all time at the work place.
  • License is non-transferable
  • Premise must be clean all the time

Prohibitions

  • To place items or other goods on the corridor in order to sell them.
  • To place obstructions on service road/back lanes and on the road side
  • To place obstruction or resistance on the entrance/exit
  • Works should be conducted inside the premise

Requirements for the Issuance of Food Establishment Business License

Administration and Health Requirements

  • License is non-transferable
  • Any kind of gaming is prohibited in the premise.
  • Food operator should undergo medical check – up and get the TY2 injection.
  • Applicants and other food servers should have short finger nails and do not have diseases such as diarrhoea and skin infections.
  • All food servers should wear aprons.
  • All food servers should practise strict self hygiene all the time.
  • Urinals should be provided in the bathroom and the cleanliness must be monitored all the time.
  • Washing basins and soaps should be provided.
  • Provide clean pipe water.
  • To provide smooth and water proof surfaces, at least 5 metres in height such as tiles or other approved materials on the walls from the front area to the kitchen .
  • The premise/eating area and the surrounding areas should be clean all the time.
  • Used water should be directly channelled to the sewerage system.
  • All wastes and food wastes should be put into plastic bags before throwing them in the bins.
  • The premise’s floors and walls should be mopped and washed from time to time.
  • Provide suitable and covered bins.
  • Unused items should be stacked on one side or be disposed off.
  • All raw foods should be kept in a special store and all cooked foods should be kept in refrigerators to avoid flies etc.
  • Make sure foods are well covered or be placed in special containers to avoid contaminations.
  • Dishes and cutleries should be in good condition and not cracked, broken or rusty.
  • Make sure the foods sold are in good condition, not spoilt or contaminated.
  • All dishes should be washed with soap and dried using clean towels.
  • Provide adequate lightings and air flows.
  • Pets such as cats, dogs, chickens, ducks and birds are not allowed in the premise.
